This illustration was inspired by the movement created by waves through water. It is composed of numerous marine invertebrates: sponges, cephalopodes, anemones, nudibranchs, and corals.
Process: I started the exploration by first working with the movement of general forms in the illustration. The initial sketch focused on how these abstract forms would move in water. Then I began to transform these abstract forms into more realistic shapes of the actual animals. The result was a sketch full of movement with the marine animals I wanted to incorporate into the illustration!
